That's the average price for a 200mm pot and you're getting a 250mm pot approximately 1m tall. That's a pretty good price for an instant hedge. Plant them close together, shape and forget the need for a fence. That's what I call a cost effective DIY.

Both of these products are great for the soil in your garden. They contain the whole of the tree, including the leaves. These break down more quickly than the chip reducing the amount of Nitrogen being removed from the soil by the breakdown process. The leave matter attracts worms and other soil organisms which in turn help the mulch to become part of a rich organic soil. With repeated applications over a few years the increase in depth of organic matter in the soil is significant and beneficial to any plants in the garden. The thick application of mulch retains water and reduces weeds as well. These products are always available and are a cost effective way of achieving good gardening practice. Every Garden should have one - Blueberry Ash

Blueberry Ash (Elaeocarpus reticulatus) is a highly ornamental small tree. It's habit is a lot like a conifer (triangular). It grows to about 7m and right now it is covered in tiny fringed pink bell flowers. Just add the tinsel and you've got your tree decorated. Because it grows upward rather than outward anyone can fit it into their garden. It is a native tree and as such is pest free. There is no maintenance on this variety unless you want to trim the odd sideways branch. At http://www.shingledownenursery.com.au/ they are only $11 in 200mm pots. What a bargain!

The Ritz in Bushmulch

Apart from our ungraded bushmulch mentioned in earlier posts, we now have a really nice looking one as well. This looks like a graded mulch without the price tag.

Beyond Value - a feast in fragrance, colour and texture

This standard Kalimna Pearl Azalea stands over 2m (7ft) tall. It is in full flower and is one of the few fragrant Azaleas. Topdressing and Fertilising

Spring time is definitely the time to revitalise your lawn. Top dressing and fertilising should be viewed as two different things. Topdressing will level out all the hills and hollows that happen just because of general wear and tear, kids, pets and the weather. Topsoil and Organic Topdress are the products for this. Fertlising can take many forms. We recommend applying an orgainc fertiliser early in the season, such as Katek pellets and mulch mowing for about a month. This will last well. If you are applying a chemical fertiliser be sure to water it in well to avoid burning. Contact us for details of the best fertilisers for your needs.
